HYDERABAD: Dozens of students of the Government Boys Degree College Qasimabad on Monday held a demonstration in front of Hyderabad press club against detention of their fellow classmate by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Aslam Langha. Reportedly, they chanted full-throat slogans against DSP Langha and demanded an immediate release of their classmate Mehran Mirani. Meanwhile, Mirani’s brother Shahjehan Mirani said that on July 25, a CIA team led by DSP Langha raided on their home in Qasimabad, and arrested his brother. Besides, his two friends Hakim Chandio and Nizam Khoso were also detained, but later released after investigation. Mirani’s family claimed that the DSP had been demanding a bribe of Rs 20 lacs for his release. The students demanded to the high authorities to take a stern action against the DSP.
