At least 10 suspects have been arrested over involvement in torching of 12 schools in Diamir district of Gilgit-Baltistan. Spokesman for Gilgit-Biltistan government Faizullah Firaq said that four suspects were arrested Friday and six others on Saturday. He said that the arrested suspects have been shifted to Darel Tangir police station for investigation. It is worth mentioning here that at least 12 schools were burnt down in Chilas and Derel areas, about 130 kilometers from Gilgit, late Thursday night. Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has also taken notice of burning down of schools and ordered the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) to submit a report within 48 hours.
