Sir: I want to draw the attention of the Balochistan government to provide a better state of education in Gwadar, which has recently been presenting us with very disappointing results. The poor, and the females in our society are deprived from a lack of access to a quality education that they deserve and thousands of people are, as a result, being driven to poverty in the region, due to a lack of opportunities. However the government has promised to involve the local people of Gwadar in its very important development projects by providing jobs and other prospects, however, they are yet to take any concrete steps regarding this matter, since the establishment of the seaport back in 2004. The more alarming issue is the lack of funds, as the government has shown no sincerityin promoting or developing educational facilities in Gwadar. Even though some schools have been established over the years, but due to the absence of the government’s desire to provide good quality education, there has been no real change in the situation so far. The children, especially the girls are still desperately in need ofschooling, as no technical institutions, medical colleges and or other schools have been established that can be said to be at par with educational institutes in other parts of the country. The federal government should take solid steps in order to improve this state of affairs, and help to provide a better education system for the young generation of Gwadar.
