Robbers barged into a private bank in Karachi and robbed Rs0.8 million on Thursday. According to details, four robbers entered the bank on Sharae Faisal at around 245 pm and gathered Rs800,000 from the cash counter and fled the scene on two motorbikes. Speaking to the media, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) East Noman Siddiqui said the criminals had taken the bank staff hostage on gunpoint. He said the incident took place in Ferozabad police station precincts, adding that it took the police team 15 minutes to reach the bank, however, the robbers had fled by that time. He said it was found out that security rules were not being followed by the bank’s branch and the bunker made for security purpose was being used as storeroom. That enabled the criminals to fled the scene so quickly, he said, adding that the bank staff and security guards were being interrogated and further investigation was underway to arrest the culprits.
