CHARSADDA: Policeman Fazalur Rabi, who witnessed the suicide bombing at the gate of a local court in Charsadda on Tuesday, recalls the tragic incident. “The suicide bomber was a fair-skinned man,” said the policeman. “I was guarding the court’s gate when I saw two men coming towards the court. They had covered themselves in shaws covering,” he recalls. “I called him from afar and asked him to show his face, however, he refused and kept pacing towards the court,” he said “I asked him a couple of times, but he did not respond. Sensing that something was fishy I asked my guard to shoot his leg and as soon as my colleague pointed his gun the man blew himself,” revealed the officer. It is pertinent to mention that three suicide bombers stormed the local court in Charsadda opening fire and hurling hand grenades. The terrorists tried to enter the premises of the court. However, the first detonated his suicide vest near the gate, killing seven people and injuring 20 others, including four policemen. On the other hand, the other two terrorists were killed in a shootout with the police. The attack is part of the series of back-to-back terror incidents across the nation, in which more than a 100 people have been killed so far.
