ISLAMABAD: The leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday condemned the Charsadda district courts attack that claimed the lives of at least seven people. In a statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives. “We are a steadfast nation and will not be deterred by such attacks. Our government will continue to fight against terrorist elements,” he said. The PM sympathised with the bereaved families and prayed for the martyrs’ eternal peace. He appreciated the response of the law enforcement agencies, which saved many precious lives. He said that the same spirit should prevail across the country to thwart malicious designs of the enemies. Separately, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, while condemning the Charsadda blast, said that those who took timely action and killed the terrorists were the true heroes of the nation. “Those who are fighting terrorists are the true heroes of Pakistan and we will never forget their great sacrifices,” he said. He said due to KP Police’s prompt action, large-scale devastation was averted. Meanwhile, PPP leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the terror attack. In a statement, Zardari said that nation should get united to fight the menace of terrorism, and added that the government would have to take stern action against terrorists. He said that it was need of the hour to eradicate all nurseries of terrorists to eliminate terrorism from the country. In a separate statement, Bilawal expressed deep anguish and distress over the unabated wave of terrorist attacks across the country. He saluted the brave Charsadda police personnel who challenged and eventually killed the terrorists. He also prayed for the martyrs and stressed the need for better medical treatment of the injured.
