Sindh Chief Secretary Major (retd) Azam Suleman Khan has called for reports from all provincial secretaries regarding various special quotas including deceased quota, minorities quota, disabled quota and women quota within a week. He also directed the provincial secretaries to formulate monthly reports on pensions, enquiries and compensation cases. The chief secretary was presiding over a meeting of the Secretaries Committee, in Sindh Secretariat on Monday when he issued these directives. The meeting reviewed various issues including cleanliness and sanitation and unauthorized use of luxury vehicles. Issues pertaining to Thar Coal Authority (TCA), Karachi Fish Harbor Authority (KFHA), Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) were also reviewed during the meeting. Other issues discussed in the meeting included dual nationality, salary packages of company employees and development schemes. During the meeting, Sindh Chief Secretary said that the issue of deterioration of the government offices buildings including hospitals and educational institutions must be controlled. He said that maintenance and repair work (M&R) work should be carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations and Works and Services Department should play its role in this connection. Maj. Retd. Azam Suleman Khan also stressed on the need to strengthen the biometric system on the divisional and district level to increase human resources. He noted that government building vigilance must be made more effective to eradicate the theft of building accessories like electric fans. He also directed the Sindh General Administration & Coordination Department (SGA&CD) to do the needful for beautification and renovation of Balochistan House, Karachi. He further directed the SGA&CD to come up with a line of action for auction of the old vehicles. Chief Secretary also directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to ensure the rapid cleanliness of the storm water drains and sewerage drains of the metropolis. Planning and Development Chairman Muhammad Waseem, Water Commission Coordinator Syed Asif Hyder Shah and others also briefed the meeting on the occasion. Concluding the meeting, the chief secretary thanked all departments and relevant authorities for their help and support in the elections. The meeting was also attended by Forest and Wildlife Additional Chief Secretary Suhail Akbar Shah, all divisional commissioners, head of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), head of KMC and head of KWSB.
