ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Monday said construction of dams is the government’s responsibility and the court would not interfere in the administrative work of the government. CJP Nisar passed these remarks during a hearing of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dam case today. The chief justice went on to say that it’s not the court’s job to collect funds. “The decision of collecting funds for dams’ construction was not controversial and the government can take over the fund if it wishes to,” said CJP Nisar. The top court judge added that judiciary can’t manage the administrative side of the project. “The funds are being collected to help the government,” added CJP Nisar. The fund was announced by the CJP Nisar earlier this month amid increasing fear of water scarcity in the country.
