ISLAMABAD: After the bomb blast at the lower court at Charssada, panic prevailed at the district courts Islamabad located at F-8 Markaz. The chambers of the judges and lawyers at the Islamabad lower court were locked after two suspicious persons were arrested from the court premises and arms were recovered from them. After this the police and FIA during a search operation in the courts and its surrounding areas took 39 suspects into custody and shifted them to Margalla Police Station. Two persons were arrested from the court including Hussain Badshah resident of Kohat and Muhammad Yaqoob from Sawabi. Police recovered 9mm and 30 bore pistols from their possession. But during the course of investigation it was revealed that both had valid arms licences so they were released. An important meeting was held to review the security arrangements at Islamabad courts in which the District and Sessions Judge and SSP(Operations) Sajid Kiyani participated. The meeting discussed the matter of handing over security of the court to the Rangers. However the final decision in this regard would be taken later. The sources said that in the meeting the security duty of the court would be shifted to the Rangers. It is pertinent to mention here that Islamabad district court has eight entry and exit points where some 84 police officials are deputed. However four to six personnel are doing duty on each gate including police men, lady police officials and staff of the Special Branch. In addition a large number of the employees of other law enforcing agencies are also assigned at the court.
