MULTAN: As many as 40 shops in Multan’s Lunda Bazaar were reduced to ashes when fire erupted in the area on Wednesday. Rescue officials and fire brigade was informed of the blaze, but due to delay in their arrival the fire spread to more than 40 shops and warehouses. Goods and clothes worth millions of rupees were burnt down. The shopkeepers and fire brigade officials indulged into a brawl over the latter’s late arrival. The traders have demanded the government to conduct an inquiry into the incident and grant compensation for their loss.
