KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday granted bail to sub-inspector Muhammad Yaseen and ASI Sapurd Hussain in Naqibullah murder case. The court ordered both the officers to submit bail bonds worth Rs0.2 million each. Previously on July 10, the main accused of the case Rao Anwar was granted bail by ATC. Including Rao, more than four police accused have been granted bail by the ATC. In an informal conversation with the media outside the ATC Karachi, Rao had said that the police officers were dragged in the investigation unnecessarily. According to Anwar, “Some individuals wanted the officials (accused) to give certain statements and upon their refusal, a false case was made against them.” Naqibullah Mehsud, a 27-year-old resident of Waziristan, was being murdered along with three others on the name of terrorism which later termed as a ‘fake encounter.’ Rao Anwar was the main accused in the case.
