A man and his wife died when a reckless-driven truck knocked down a motorcycle in the provincial capital on Friday. Police said that a speeding truck hit a motorcycle in Nawab Town area of Lahore, leaving Muneer Ahmed and his wife Parveen died on the spot in the accident. The truck driver, however, sped away. The bodies were shifted to a hospital for postmortem. Police after registering a case against the driver started efforts for his arrest. Separately, a man was stabbed to death while his brother sustained injuries after a verbal clash turned violent in Mughalpura area of the provincial capital. Police said that that a verbal spat between two groups got violent wherein a group attacked its rival party with sharp-edged knives, killing a young man and severely injuring his brother. The body and the injured were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities and the police after registering a case against culprits started raids for their arrest.
