Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Ali Raza Abidi has challenged the victory of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in NA-243 Karachi. Abidi has written to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Rangers director general and the head of Sindh police in this connection. He has also sent a copy of the letter to the Returning Officers’ (RO) office. The MQM leader said that rigging took place in the constituency and polling agents were told to leave the room when the votes were counted. He added that this was against the law. MQM’s candidate for NA-239 Karachi, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, has also challenged the results in his constituency where PTI’s Muhammad Akram won. He also claimed that polling agents were forced to leave the room when the ballot papers were counted. NA-243 comprises of areas like Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Dhoraji, Pir Ilahi Buksh Colony, PECHS-II, Bahadurabad, Eissa Nagri whereas Asifabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Railway Colony, Haider Colony are some of the areas included in NA-239.
