The greenback closed depressed in value against the rupee in the interbank and open market dealings, treasurers and currency dealers said. Dollar started day’s trading at Rs 128.30 for buying, with 30 paisa variation in value closed at Rs 128 for buying and Rs 128.20 for selling in interbank. The euro stood dull in value against rupee as it started day’s trading at Rs 150.72 for buying, closed at Rs 149.20 for buying and closed at Rs 149.40 for selling after Rs 1.52 change. The pound sterling remained down against domestic unit as it initiated the day’s trading at Rs 169.08 for buying and closed at Rs 168 for buying and Rs 168.20 for selling after losing Rs 1.08 Open market: The dollar remained down against the rupee, dealers said. It started the day’s trading at Rs 129.60 for buying and closed at Rs 127.30 for buying after Rs 2 downward correction in value and stood at Rs 127.30 for selling. The euro remained minus versus the rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 148.25 for buying, with Rs 2.25 change in value it closed at Rs 146 for buying and at Rs 146.20 for selling. The pound sterling remained dull against the rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 166 for buying, closed in lower bracket with Rs 2 change for buying and closed at Rs 166.20 for selling.
