RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has crushed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) by winning four National Assembly and 13 Provincial Assembly seats from Rawalpindi, as per preliminary and unofficial results. According to unofficial result, PTI candidate Sadaqat Ali Abbasi has defeated former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from NA-57 by obtaining 136,249 votes. Similarly, PTI candidate Ghulam Sarwar Khan defeated former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from NA-59 and NA-63 by securing 89,055 and 100,986 votes respectively. Independent candidate Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has bagged 66,369 and 55,767 votes from NA-59 and NA-63 constituencies respectively. Amir Mahmood Kiani of PTI has bagged 105,000 votes from NA-61 and has defeated Malik Ibrar Ahmed of PML-N who managed to get only 60,125 votes. Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has beaten Chaudhry Daniyal of PML-N from NA-62 by securing 117,718 votes. Overall, PTI is also leading in the Provincial Assembly constituencies by winning 13 seats from Rawalpindi. PTI candidate Latasab Satti has defeated former provincial minister Raja Ishfaq Sarwar of PML-N from PP-6 by securing 64,322 votes while Ishfaq Sarwar has obtained 56,682. PTI candidate Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi has defeated Chaudhry Nisar from PP-12 by getting 27,315 while Ijaz Khan of PTI has defeated Shakeel Awan of PML-N by obtaining 44,021 votes from PP-18. Moreover, Fiazul Hassan Chauhan, Javed Kausar, Chaudhry Sajid Mahmood, Amjad Mahmood Chaudhry, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Muhammad Tanveer, Muhammad Tanveer, Rashid Hafeez, Ammar Sadiq Khan and Malik Taimur Masood of PTI have also won their Provincial Assembly seats. Former PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has succeeded to save his seat by securing 125,090 votes from NA-58, while Chaudhry Nisar has won only one Provincial Assembly seat from PP-10 by obtaining 53,145 votes.
