KARACHI: The interim Sindh government has restricted movement of cabinet members and officials of government departments to polling stations on polling day July 25, 2018. However the officials of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), security personnel and on-duty officials of general election have been exempted from this restriction. Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, Fazal-ur-Rehman during a meeting of cabinet members and officials of Sindh government asked personalities to avoid VVIP movement to polling stations in Karachi. The caretaker CM said that LEAs and security personnel including Army, Rangers and police would be collaborating to ensure that citizens cast their votes in a safe environment. Meanwhile Chief Secretary along with Karachi Commissioner, deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners visited different polling stations to review security and polling arrangements being made in Karachi. During his visit, the CS directed the election officials to rectify all possible bottlenecks in the election process. He also directed district officials to ensure that polling officials arrive on time on the polling day. CS also directed all polling station officials to be vigilant and set up election material to avoid any difficulties on polling day. “All polling station officials should ensure that the polling staff is present on time tomorrow,” said the CS.
