LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday urged the people to vote for his party in tomorrow’s general election if they wanted the fate of the country to change. “It is time to take matters into your own hands. Go out on July 25 and vote for PTI to change your fate,” he told a gathering at Data Darbar, adding that the PTI would crush the idols of oppression by winning the general elections. On Indian media’s reports of likely rigging in the July 25 general elections, the PTI chief said India was more concerned about convict former prime minister Nawaz Sharif than Pakistan. He said Indian media was against him for they knew that he would not become a puppet for anybody. Imran Khan also dismissed allegations of establishment facilitating him in the elections. “Establishment’s hand is at play for sure, but it is the international media establishment, including India, who is trying to peddle the narrative that Pakistan army is out to rig the elections,” he said, adding that what is quite visible from PTI’s nationwide rallies is that a true revolution is taking place. Talking about rampant corruption and lack of facilities for the citizens, Imran said, “On one hand a corrupt politician loots money and earns kickbacks on mega projects and on the other hand people don’t get clean water, four patients share a single bed in hospitals and no standard education is available at public schools,” he lamented. The PTI chief assured the minorities also that he believed in egalitarianism.”I want to speak to our minorities: there is a propaganda being run that Imran Khan will not be fair to the minorities. Imran Khan believes in equality for all the Pakistanis,” he clarified. Published in Daily Times, July 24th 2018.
