Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that he is competing against the mafia and not politicians. He was addressing a rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah in the port city on Sunday. Taking a dig at Pakistan People’s Party, the cricketer-turned-politician said: “Zardari mafia has been ruling different parts of Sindh. The houses around Bilawal House were forcefully evacuated.” He continued, “They refer to the system in place in Sindh to be a democracy.” Criticising the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership, Imran claimed that Punjab was forcefully occupied by the Sharif family. “Abid Boxer had accepted that former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz used to encourage him to engage in extrajudicial killings,” Imran alleged, adding that the Sharif family laundered billions of rupees. “The PPP and PML-N endorsed the charter of democracy just so they could engage in corrupt practices,” Imran alleged further. While addressing the media earlier upon his arrival in Karachi, the PTI chief said that the party reserved the right to put forward its manifesto while campaigning. “Those who rigged elections last time are crying foul now.” The forthcoming General Election 2018 will prove to be historical, he claimed. He further shared that he held rallies in Bannu and Karak despite facing threats to life. Separately in an interview to a British media outlet, Imran said his second marriage was the biggest mistake of his life. “Normally I don’t say anything about Reham, but I will say this: I’ve made some mistakes in my life, but my second marriage has to be the biggest.” Published in Daily Times, July 23rd 2018.
