Provincial Caretaker Minister for Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Mushtaq Ahmed Shah said that Narcotics Control Wing of Sindh Excise Department will be made effective and functional soon. “In addition, the Narcotics Control Wing would be facilitated as per the requirements. It is very important to do so because this wing will play a vital role in curbing the activities of drug peddlers across the province,” said Mushtaq Ahmed Shah. This he said while getting briefing from Director General Narcotics Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Thursday. On this occasion Narcotics Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui informed the caretaker minister Mushtaq Shah that there were as many 328 posts of various cadres in Narcotics Control Wing and most of them needed to be filled. “The total number of posts in Directorate General Narcotics Sindh are 79, in Hyderabad the number of posts is 70, in Mirpurkhas 45 , in Shaheed Benazirabad 35 , in Sukkur 58 and in Larkana 41. Out of these posts, 45 are those of Narcotics Inspectors,” said Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui. The caretaker provincial minister for Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah then directed DG Narcotics Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui to move summary for the recruitment of officers from grade 14 to onward through Sindh Public Service Commission in order to maintain transparency . During the meeting DG Narcotics Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui also briefed the caretaker minister regarding issues faced by newly created Narcotics Control Wing.
