Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan Monday said that the nation was paying the high price of corruption committed by the political leaders. Lashing out at his political opponents while addressing a rally in Piplan tehsil of Mianwali, Imran said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have broken all records of corruption. “People of Piplan, if the PML-N candidates come to ask for your vote, do ask them what did they do for the country in the last five years. Ask them to name one institution they have improved,” he said. The cricketer-turned-politician alleged that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would send nation’s wealth abroad to his sons. “Nawaz has two sons in London, while [former finance minister] Ishaq Dar has sons in Dubai. They claim that they have no money but their children are billionaires. When asked how did his children become billionaires, Nawaz remarked that he doesn’t know because his sons are British citizens,” Imran said. The PTI chief said that the rates of gas, electricity and basic food necessities such as water, milk and oil increased exorbitantly during the tenure of the PML-N.
