LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Dr Hassan Askari has said that purpose of celebrating the World Day for International Justice is to raise public awareness about the utility and importance of justice in the society. In his message on the occasion of World Day for International Justice, he said this day is an opportunity to pay tributes to the persons who have rendered great sacrifices in struggle against injustice. He said that Islam has stressed for the provision of justice to every person without any discrimination and added that a just society can be formulated through the protection of human rights. “I am of the considered opinion that a just society is imperative for socio-economic development of the country and it goes without saying that provision of justice to each and every person is the responsibility of the state. The societies ultimately disappear from the map of the world where justice becomes non-existent,” he added. Caretaker Punjab CM Dr Hassan Askari stressed upon the civil society to play its role along with the government for formulating a society based on the principles of justice and equality. “Today, we should reiterate our commitment to ensure provision of justice to every segment of society,” concluded the chief minister. Caretaker Provincial Minister for Housing & Environment Saeedullah Babar called on Dr Hassan Askari at his office on Monday. During the meeting, proposals regarding belated usage of rain water came under discussion. Talking on the occasion, Hassan Askari said that rain water has been used for different purposes in the developed countries and in the light of their experiments; we should also take necessary steps in this regard. He said that water is a great bounty of Allah Almighty and its careful use is the need of the hour. “There is a need to take necessary steps in the right direction to use the rain water belatedly,” he said. Saeedullah Babar apprised the CM about the performance of housing, environment and cooperative departments. Provincial Home Minister Shaukat Javed also called on Askari at his office separately on Monday. During the meeting, steps taken for implementation on electoral code of conduct came under discussion. Talking on the occasion, Askari said that implementation on code of conduct for free and fair polls will be ensured at every cost. “Indiscriminate action will be continued on violation of code of conduct devised by the Election Commission,” he added. The CM said that necessary steps are being taken to further improve the law and order situation and added that peaceful atmosphere will be provided to the voters for use of right of franchise without any fear. Meanwhile, Askari said that implementation on code of conduct is the fundamental condition of transparent electoral process and implementation on this code is compulsory for free, fair and transparent elections, adding indiscriminate action is being carried out on the violation of code of conduct and this action will be continued in future as well. The caretaker government is totally impartial and apolitical and responsibility of holding impartial elections will be performed amicably, concluded the CM. He expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives due to cylinder blast in a hotel in Multan and extended sympathies to the heirs of the persons died in this incident. He directed the administration to provide best healthcare facilities to the injured and sought a report of the incident as well. He also expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in a road accident in Matiari, Hyderabad. He has extended sympathies to the heirs and prayed for early recovery of the injured.
