Sir: The recent wave of terror has deprived us of an ardent, zealous, and devoted son of the soil. Siraj Raisani was all set to hoist the largest Pakistani flag on August 14, 2018. The flag would have no doubt secured a place in the Guinness book of world records but, alas, the monster of terrorism claimed his, and killed several others this week. No religion condones the ruthless slaughter of innocent people. These hate mongers are enemies of all mankind, and must be dealt with an iron hand. It appears that institutions responsible for maintaining law and order are falling short of their target. In light of recent tragedies, the country must stand united and the mudslinging that is taking place before the elections must stop.We are going through a very delicate phase of our history, hence we must take action against terrorism decisively but carefully in order to eradicate it forever. May the souls of all who lost their lives in terror attacks rest in peace. IFTIKHAR MIRZA Islamabad Published in Daily Times, July 17th 2018.
