JHANG/FAISALABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates in Jhang failed to bring out a large crowd at the rally, much to the disappointment of leader Imran Khan. As Imran Khan landed in Jhang, there were no PTI candidates to receive him. Along with Chaudhry Sarwar and some other party workers, he went on to the stage himself and even on the stage there were no party leaders present other than Rashid Yaqub and Ghulam Bibi Bharwana. All other chairs on stage remained empty. Many candidates came much later than the appointed time and Ameer Sultan, the candidate contesting elections from NA-116 showed up when chairman Imran Khan was almost done with his speech. In the area restricted for female party workers, not even the first row of chairs was occupied. Most chairs for male party workers remained empty as well. While addressing an almost empty rally, Imran Khan complained that it seems like the people of Jhang don’t like showing up on time. According to PTI, 40-45000 workers attended their Faisalabad rally, however, independent sources claim that the turn out was not greater than 10,000 workers. In the Faisalabad rally, two groups of workers also got into a brawl which left 5 people wounded.
