“Old faces in politics can no longer hoodwink the masses by attaching new labels on old bottles, they are sure to suffer a defeat in these elections,” said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday. Sirajul Haq said this while commenting a statement of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had said that his father Asif Ali Zardari would be the next prime minister. While speaking to the media, the JI chief said that there was no restriction on having such dreams and many people have dreamt of becoming the prime minister. The JI Ameer said that on July 25, liberalism and secularism will be trounced in Pakistan ‘just like in Turkey’. Siraj said that the caretaker government should not become a party to any matter and interim Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk should remain neutral. He said that media should be independent and no decisions should be made behind closed doors. The Ameer JI said that Muttahida Majlis-e-Ammal (MMA), an alliance of major religio-political parties, after coming into power will turn Pakistan into a clean and green country.
