There have been several instances of violations of the ECP’s code of conduct in Bajaur. In NA-40, Haji Bismillah Khan, father of an influential independent candidate Shaukat Ullah Khan, distributed solar batteries as well as electric transformers among voters. A video of an incident where he was distributing these goods recently went viral on social media. Allegations were raised by some social media users claiming to be area residents that Shahabudin Khan was distributing government equipment among voters. Bajaur commissioner Amir Khattak also came to the limelight when several candidates held a press conference demanding that he should be transferred away from the district. They accused Khattak of having received an expensive car as a gift from PPP candidate Akhunzada Chittan. With the merger of the formerly Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KP), the region needs to build on its gains. I will vote for a political party that was actively involved in the FATA reforms Maghaz Khan, 27, an Mphil student at IIUI Published in Daily Times, July 15th 2018.
