Caretaker Minister for Labour and Human Resource Simon John Daniel, on Friday, approved Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) Staff Union’s (CBA) charter of demands which had been pending since July 2017. Provincial caretaker minister gave this approval in a staff union (CBA) ceremony organized to distribute permanent orders among 30 daily wages employees at SESSI head office. During his address at the ceremony, the Labor Minister said that it was a matter of great pride for him that he was distributing permanent orders among 30 daily wage employees who had been serving since 2010. He said that he was honored to give approval to SESSI Staff Union’s charter of demands. He said that SESSI, an important institution of Sindh Labour department, was striving hard for the welfare of workers. He lauded the efforts of SESSI administration and advised all officials to continue working with the same spirit and bring more improvements in service delivery to workers. Staff union (CBA) President Malik Naveed Khan and governing body member Wahid Shoro also spoke on the occasion. Later Provencal minister for Labour & Human Resources Simon John Daniel distributed permanent orders among the 30 employees of SESSI. SESSI Commissioner Naseem ul Ghani Sahito, SESSI governing body member Wahid Shoro, SESSI Vice Commissioner Shah Muhmmad Shah, Staff Union (CBA) President Malik Naveed Khan and others were also present at the ceremony. Under the charter of demands, the Hajj quota has been increased to a total of 12 employees per year and the number of Hindu and Christian employees to be sent to their holy places in Pakistan has been increased to three employees per year and the total amount to be granted to each of them has also been increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. The charter also grants a total of 30 scholarships amounting to Rs 1500 for primary, Rs2500 for secondary and Rs 5000 for higher secondary students. Utility allowance has been increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 1300 per month. A deceased quota is also going to be introduced under the charter. In addition, the amount of house rent advance has been increase from 11 months to 15 months and its installments will be deducted in 27 months instead of 22. Under the charter, rates for outside treatment have been revised and it has been decided that private hospitals will be taken on SESSI Penal at Karachi, Hyderabad, Kotri and Sukkur. As per the charter, committees will be formed to look into matters for the promotion of technical posts which have no channel of next promotion, up gradation of stenographer, house scheme and enhancement of house rent allowance.
