Ali Begum’s campaign is providing a chance to many women in Kurram to stand up for the ownership of their vote. Several women voters expressed their support for her in brief interviews with Daily Times. They said they would vote for her regardless of the wishes of their families. Several analysts Daily Times reached out to said that though the district’s high literacy rate has ensured that many women vote in elections, their decisions are mostly influenced by their male relatives.
