“Same standards should be implemented in all public hospitals of Sindh,” said provincial caretaker Minister for Health Dr Saadia Virk Rizvi while presiding over a meeting at Sindh Health Commission office on Friday. During the meeting, Sindh Healthcare Commission’s (SHCC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Minhaj Kadvai briefed the minister health about the overall progress, and achievements of SHCC since its inception last year. “Almost 3000 applications have been received in our office for registration we are scrutinizing them for further process,” Minhaj Kadvai told the Sindh caretaker minister for health. He also told her that the commission was facing a shortage of staff and recruitment process would be completed soon. During the meeting CEO Sindh Healthcare Commission said that the commission had received 11 complaints against health service providers of Sindh and an inquiry had been initiated against them. Minister Health Dr Saadia Virk Rizvi said that there should be same standards in all Public Hospitals Of Sindh. “The Human resource is our key problem the placement of right man on right job is essential to meet over objectives on time,” she added. She said that SHCC should set their benchmark of standards and apply them on micro levels. “First select few hospitals or a single district should apply their full efforts to enforce the desired standards over it. Such role models hospitals will serve as examples for all the health service providers,” explained Dr Rizvi. Dr Saadia Rizvi said that proper training sessions for Sindh’s healthcare service providers should be started for the awareness and implementation of the standards set by SHCC Officials decided to conduct such meetings on regular basis so that all stakeholders and concern offices remain informed about the latest updates and issues. The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Dr Usman Chachar, CEO of Sindh Healthcare Commission Dr Minhaj Kidvai and other relevant officials. Published in Daily Times, July 14th 2018.
