The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) on Wednesday announced the results of the National Examination Board examinations (NEB). This exam is taken from those Pakistani nationals who have done their basic medical/dental qualifications from abroad. The exam was conducted by National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) at Combined Military Hospital and Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry, Rawalpindi simultaneously. This exam was conducted in three steps. Two steps were held earlier and successful candidates were eligible to appear in final step III exam. The NEB Step-III exam was held on June 30, July 1, 7, 8, 2018. A total of 1,321 candidates appeared out of which 1,066 declared successful with overall 80 percent result in the total NEB Medical exam. The NEB dental exam was held on July 7 on which nine candidates appeared out of eight were declared successful with an overall 88 percent result in the exam. This exam was a patient based exam each candidate was practically assessed on different stations. Faculty of medical colleges consisting of professors, associate professors and assistant professors were examiners who assessed the candidates. After completing all the steps and parts of the exam, the passing candidates will be registered with PMDC as doctors after getting notified by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination.
