DADU: An independent candidate Meer Hassan Panhiar on Monday announced to withdraw from contesting election in favour of former Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for provincial assembly seat PS-80, constituency of Sehwan, and declared to support him during election campaign. Reportedly, the decision followed Shah’s visit to Sehwan, where he vowed that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will secure majority of the national and provincial assembly seats during the forthcoming general elections. While addressing a public gathering near the embankment of the Manchar Lake in Sehwan, he asserted that Jamshoro Ittehad or other political alliances formed against PPP would not affect the party’s vote bank. He was accompanied by PPP candidates Sardar Sikandar Ali Rahpoto, Sardar Malik Asad Sikandar and Thana Bula Khan Gianchand Esrani, who are contesting for the constituencies NA-233, PS-82 and PS-81, respectively. Meanwhile, Rahpoto held many corner meetings during his visit to Jamshoro, Kotri, Manjhand, Sann, Amri, Bhan Syedabad and Sehwan. Moreover, the Sindh United Party (SUP) leader Sardar Amanullah Kaloi announced to join PPP during a public gathering held in Amri town. Published in Daily Times, July 10th 2018.
