ABBOTABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari are one and the same and are supporting one another in the name of charter of democracy. Taking jabs at political rivals while addressing a rally in Abbotabad, Imran said that Captain Safdar arrived in Rawalpindi to surrender ‘as if he had freed Kashmir’. He added that ex-PM Nawaz and daughter Maryam are also playing the victim and pretending that they are in the same league as Nelson Mandela. “Nelson was a great leader, but Nawaz Sharif is a thief,” Imran said. Imran added that during Pakistan’s 60 years (from 1947-2007), the debt was Rs 6 trillion, but in the 10 year tenure of Zardari and Nawaz governments, the debt soared to Rs 27 trillion. Continuing his jabs, the PTI chief said that when Nawaz’s sons are asked about the offshore assets, they say that they are citizens of the United Kingdom and are not answerable to Pakistan. “In any respectable society, if a prime minister was caught laundering millions, he would not be able to come out of his house,” he added.
