National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) Inspector General Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan while addressing open house meeting in motorway police training college with officers, said that this department will work day and night to improve its professional performance and standards. “This department is an icon of excellence and we have to maintain this highest achievement with all available resources. The Motorway Police is public friendly, service-oriented force and delivery of prompt assistance to the distressed road users is the trademark of the department and it is only big distinction with other police organisations. The well-mannered conduct with commuters, courtesy and indiscriminate enforcement of law must be ensured to enhance the image of NHMP,” he said. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ahmad Arsalan Malik, DIG Mirza Faran Baig, DIG Ashfaq Khan, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Masroor Alam Kolachi, SSP Salman, SSP Hashmat Kamal, officers and officials of NHMP were also present on the occasion. NHMP IG Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan further said that the good name and fame of the department was a big asset and “we have to keep it at all cost. It is indeed a matter of pride to command this force”. He asked the officers to produce the best possible results with limited available recourses through professional approach, adding that by scientific and modern approach, the best and most wonderful results can be obtained with meagre resources. He further said that “we will make all-out efforts to further improve the training quality of NHMP officers”. Amir said that “we will preserve respect and prestige of our officers at every cost. The problems and issues of motorway police officers would be resolved on top priority”. Condemning the Gojra incident, IG said that he will try his best to ensure maximum punishment under the law to the culprits. Moreover, he said, “We will further raise the faith and confidence of the people which is the hallmark of this organisation. Female officers have played a pivotal role in the success of this department.” The IG also listened to the problems of the officers and issued necessary directions for their solution.
