At least 12 people lost their lives on Friday while another 35 people sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident on Mehran Highway near Shaheed Benazir Abad district (Nawabshah old) of Sindh province. According to police sources, a Quetta-bound passenger bus from Karachi rammed into a passenger van while another car ploughed into both of the vehicles, killing at least eight people on the spot. Consequently, the Rescue 1122 teams and police officers rushed to the spot and transported the bodies to the Peoples Medical University (PMU) Hospital in Shaheed Benazir Abad for autopsy of the decedents and treatment of the injured. In the month of June, at least four people were killed and dozens sustained severe wounds during accidents in Balochistan. According to details, three people were killed and one injured when a motorcycle crashed into a car on Main Highway near Muslim Bagh. In another incident, three people were wounded when a car collided with a dumper truck on River Road in Hub. Another man namely Wazir Khan lost his life when a tractor trolley ran over him in Barkhan, a town in Balochistan.
