LAHORE: Model Town Football Academy (MTFA) won Shahlyla Baloch National Under-16 Women’s Championship after defeating Karachi Kickers 2-1 in the final at City School Sports Complex Ground here on Wednesday. MTFA started aggressively with Anoshay opening the account for her team in the 19th minute. The score remained 1-0 till half time. Noor made it 2-0 in the 57th minute of the game. Karachi Kickers fought hard for a comeback through Kainat who netted the ball in the last moments of the game but that was not enough. MTFA were awarded winners’ cash award of Rs.300,000 along with a glittering trophy. The runners-up Karachi Kickers bagged Rs.200,000. Third position holders Diya Club received Rs.100,000. MTFA also received fair play trophy and Rs.40,000. Best player of the tournament Alina (Islamabad) got Rs.40,000. Top scorer Aliya (MTFA) and best goalkeeper Nida (Karachi Kickers) received Rs.30,000 each.
