GUJRANWALA: At least two people died while two another sustained critical wounds on Friday when a speedy Mazda loader rammed into dumper truck in Eminabad, in the district of Gujranwala. Reportedly, a Mazda loader was on its way to Eminabad when it ploughed into a dumper at dewan road. Resultantly, Tahir, a resident of Tamboli, and Akhter Khan, a resident of Taxla, died on the spot and two people were left injured. They were rushed to DHQ Hospital where doctors recommended shifting the injured to Lahore due to their critical condition. The area police have started investigation into the incident. Anti-corruption detains ASI for taking bribe in bogus case An anti-corruption team on Friday detained an assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) red-handed while taking bribe from a youth. Reportedly, a citizen namely Lala Uzair filed an application accusing ASI Manzoor Ahmed of Khiali police station for including Muhammad Arshad’s name in a bogus case. Consequently, he demanded bribe for clearance of criminal charges on him. After investigation, an anti-corruption team along with judicial magistrate raided and arrested him while he was taking Rs 10,000 from Arshad. Published in Daily Times, June 30th 2018.
