Pakistan Army on Thursday announced the promotion of officers of the brigadier rank to major general. A total of 987 officers were considered for promotion, out of which only 37 brigadiers, including nine from the Army Medical Corps, were approved for promotion to the rank of major general.Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over the promotion board meeting held at the General Headquarters, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Those promoted are: Brigadier Babar Iftikhar, Brigadier Ahmed Malik, Brigadier Irfan Arshad, Brigadier Shahbaz Khan, Brigadier Tahir Hameed Shah, Brigadier Irfan Ahmed Malik, Brigadier Raza Ali Khan, Brigadier Zafar Iqbal, Brigadier Zahid Sarwar Malik, Brigadier Kashif Nazir, Brigadier Adnan Asif Jah Shad, Brigadier Zahid Khan, Brigadier Ghulam Jafar, Brigadier Munir Afsar, Brigadier Yousuf Jamal, Brigadier Ehsan Mehmood Khan, Brigadier Yousaf Majoka, Brigadier Asad Nawaz Janjua, Brigadier Rahat Naseem Khan , Brigadier Mumtaz Hussain, Brigadier Khurram Sarfraz Khan, Brigadier Nayyar Naseer, Brigadier Amer Ahsan Nawaz, Brigadier Najeeb Ahmad, Brigadier Kamran Khurshid,Brigadier Asim Iqbal, Brigadier Ayub Ahsan Bhatti and Brigadier Hassan Akhtar Kayani. Those approved from the Army Medical Corps are: Brigadier Malik Masud, Brigadier Salman Ashraf, Brigadier Chaudhary Qamar ul Haq Noor, Brig Syed Raza Jaffar, Brigadier Khursheed Uttra, Brigadier Shehla Baqai, Brigadier Wasim Alamgir, Brigadier Asad Qureshi and Brigadier Rasikh Maqsood.
