RAWALPINDI: A large quantity of arms and ammunition including improvised explosive devices (IED) were recovered from North and South Waziristan during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted by security forces, the army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. Reportedly, IBOs were conducted in the village of Patwelai in Ladha, a subdivision of South Waziristan, and Gharlamai area of North Waziristan. The security forces recovered huge cache of anti-tank mines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 81 mortar bombs, seven rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), grenades, detonating cords and a large quantity of 12.7mm ammunition.
