Larkana Additional District and Sessions Judge Gul Zameer Solangi has reportedly tendered his resignation to the Sindh High Court registrar. “Due to humiliating behaviour of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar during ongoing court proceedings of my court, which was widely aired in the electronic, print and social media, I have suffered deep anguish and injury to my self-respect and dignity, therefore, I am unable to continue my job with your esteemed organisation,” he said in the letter addressed to the SHC registrar on Tuesday. “I tender my resignation from my above-mentioned post, which may kindly be accepted with immediate effect,” the letter added, which was being widely shared on the social media. It must be mentioned that CJP during his visit to the District and Sessions Courts, Larkana, on Saturday had scolded the judge after spotting his cell phone over his table in the court and threw it with a warning to avoid using the gadget while at work. The CJP had also asked him to leave cell phone in chambers. The CJP had also ordered transfer of the judge. Phone calls to the judge for confirmation of his resignation remained unattended. Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court’s (SHC)’s Public Relations Office Tuesday clarified that a ‘resignation letter’ purportedly authored Gul Zameer Solangi was “fake”. “It is to clarify that the news viral [sic] on different TV channels and social media regarding the resignation of Mr Gul Zameer Solangi, second ADSJ Larkana, is based on a fake resignation letter,” the SHC PRO informed reporters hours after the news was reported. “Neither such resignation letter has been sent nor received by the office of the learned registrar,” it added.
