Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Dr Hassan Askari has taken notice of a news item which was aired on TV, about the kidnapping of a four-year-old boy in Kasur and his non-recovery. He has sought a report from the IG Police adding that every possible effort should be made for the recovery of the kidnapped child and police should take prompt steps in this regard. He said that a report should be submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office within 48 hours adding that redressal of the bereaved family is the responsibility of the state and no stone will be left unturned in this regard. On the instructions of Caretaker CM Punjab Dr Hassan Askari, implementation on austerity policy has started at the Chief Minister’s Office. Under this policy, 151 officers and other staff deputed in this office has been sent back to their respective departments while the services of 113 other officers and staff taken on loan basis from different departments have also been returned. The spokesman said that services of overall 264 officers and officials have been handed over to their concerned departments. The spokesman said that only those officers and officials have been retained in CM’s Office who are necessary for discharging the official affairs of the caretaker government.
