A new medical report of former finance minister Ishaq Dar was submitted in the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday. According to the report, Dar’s condition has improved by 10-15 percent but pain still exists in his arms. It says that the movement of his neck is quite limited and he suffers discomfort due to the pain. Doctors have suggested additional eight weeks physiotherapy of the former minister in the medical report. “After two months, a new MRI of Ishaq Dar will be done. If his condition did not improve, the option of surgery will be reconsidered,” says the report. The report dated June 8, 2018 was prepared by neurosurgeon Richard Galan. It might be mentioned that the former finance minister was spotted in good health in a video captured by a journalist as he was leaving Harley Street Clinic in London on Saturday. Dar shied away from talking to the media men who were busy interviewing former premier Nawaz Sharif outside the clinic where his wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is undergoing treatment. An accountability court had declared Dar an absconder when he failed to appear in a case pertaining to his assets beyond known sources of income. Dar has been living in London where he is reportedly undergoing a medical treatment for heart disease. Published in Daily Times, June 26th 2018.
