GUJRANWALA: An anti-corruption team on Thursday arrested a member of a suspected land mafia gang over his alleged involvement in a land fraud case. Reportedly, a citizen namely Zaka-ullah filed an application accusing Mukhtar Ahmed of transferring ownership of his property to another person namely Bashir Ahmed. He revealed that he did not sell his land to anyone while the accused in collaboration with land record officer Muhammad Nawaz, Gardawar Bashir Ahmed and Naib Tehsildar Asghar Ali prepared a bogus land deed. After investigation, an anti-corruption team conducted a raid and arrested Mukhtar Ahmed. Meanwhile, further investigation is underway. Short-circuiting burns valuables in plastic factory Valuables worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes on Thursday after a fire broke out due to short-circuiting at a plastic factory in the civil lines area of Gujranwala.
