LAHORE: A one-day seminar on Role of Modern Tools in Improving Quality of Teaching-Learning Process was held at Virtual University of Pakistan. The seminar was organised by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement at MA Jinnah Campus Lahore. The main objective of the seminar was to discuss innovative techniques for improving teaching – learning process and key factors that improve the quality of teaching. The participants were also counseled about the role of information technology in supporting teaching learning process. The seminar was chaired by VU Rector Dr Naveed A Malik. He stressed the significance of professional development, effective education transformation that can help to increase student abilities and support economic development. Eminent educationist and University of Education former vice chancellor Dr Munawar Sultan Mirza briefed the participants about conventional and modern teaching learning tools. Faculty of Science & Technology Dean Professor Dr Masroor Elahi Babar delivered a comprehensive lecture on science teaching with modern tools. VU IT General Manager Muhammad Javed Younis shared the university’s efforts in integrating ICTs along with modern pedagogical approaches to the teaching methodology. He said that the workshop was an important step in establishing synergy among the researchers, teachers, academic institutes and other relevant stakeholders for rapid advancements for improving quality of teaching and learning process.
