ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday sent a bouquet of flowers to former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s ailing wife. The gesture came with a message that he hoped and was praying for begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s quick recovery. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) said that Sharifs were facing times of duress and he was praying for them in these trying times. Bajwa reiterated by wishing Begum Kulsoom a quick recovery and added that the Pakistan army sends well wishes your way. COAS added that “wish you become healthy again by the grace of Allah.” Begum Kulsoom has been on life support in London’s Harley Street Clinic since June 14, after she suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors stated her condition to be critical and at one point had thought of talking a decision of removing her from the life support. The Sharifs have taken exemption from court appearances and been urging the nation for earnest prayers for Kulsoom’s recovery. Along with COAS, renowned politicians have also extended there well wishes and prayers for former premiers ailing wife as she resides somewhere in between life and death.
