KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) local leaders from Karachi on Wednesday criticised the party for ignoring ideological workers while distribution of tickets in the city. PTI leaders Subhan Ali Sahil and Dawa Khan Sabir held a press conference along with local leaders at Karachi Press Club on Friday claiming that those “who sponsor trips of Imran Khan” – Dr Arif Alvi and Ali Zaidi – were given election tickets to contest in general elections 2018. Subhan said that ideological workers were ignored while distribution of tickets in Karachi. He also requested PTI Chairman Imran Khan to take notice of the issue.”We are not going to leave the party but we will keep on protesting against injustice and nepotism within the party,” he said. He alleged that Mehmood Baqi Molvi sponsored the Karachi jalsa that is why he has been awarded a ticket from NA-255. “Ali Zaidi is being benefited by Molvi that is why he is favouring him,” he claimed. After the press conference, workers of PTI reached at Insaf House Karachi to arrange a sit-in outside. The protesters said that despite it being the occasion of Eid, they will continue to protest because it is a matter related to Karachi’s future. “We will offer Namaz-e-Eid in front of Insaf House,” they said. Daily Times learnt that the candidates, nominated from NA250, PS120 respectively have registered case in ATC against them. Subhan Ali Sahil got ticket in last election from Lyari and managed to secure around 26,348 votes, while he has also been on several key post of Karachi division.
