Activist Prithvi Mhaske has registered a complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) against the makers of the film, Sanju, due to a toilet leakage scene in the movie which is shown in the trailer, as reported by Hindustan Times. The letter was addressed to chief Prasoon Joshi and Ranbir Kapoor, and it stated, “In the trailer of the movie, we have seen a scene that Sanjay Dutt was in such a barrack of a jail in which the toilet overflowed.” It further said, “As per the information available, the government and jail authorities are taking very well care of all the barracks of the jails. We never heard of any such incidents anywhere. Earlier as well, many movies were released based on gangsters, wherein the jails were covered, but had never seen such incidents,” “This particular scene will make a bad impression of the jails and jail authorities of India,” it added. “If there is no action about the same by you, then we are left with no option but to approach the honourable court to put stay on the release of the movie,” the letter ended. Sanju is a biopic of the Bollywood star, Sanjay Dutt. The role of Dutt is being played by Ranbir Kapoor. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Hirani and is co-produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and is slated for release on June 29.
