Sir: Whether the slights Chaudhry Nisar says he has suffered at the hands of the Sharif brothers are real or imagined is not clear. What is clear, however, is that his relationship with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is over. Regardless, he has submitted nomination papers to two constituencies — as an independent candidate of course. When he announced his departure from the PML-N, Nisar had warned Nawaz Sharif not to push him or he would “spill the beans”. Nisar’s political career now depends on whether he is successful in the upcoming general elections. If he succeeds, he will be courted by the parties vying for power. If he is not successful, then his career is over. Even the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf is unlikely to want him in that case.Perhaps it would have been best if he had swallowed his pride and stuck to the PTI. I would also like to say that if he has beans to spill, why not just spill them and getting over with? Perhaps he is just waiting for a second chance from his old party.
