KHYBER AGENCY: Wing Commander of Scouts of Swat wing 213 Lieutenant Colonel Tanveer Gul on Saturday assured the tribal elders of remote area of Loy-Shelman in the Landi Kotal Tehsil that new development schemes have been initiated in the region and the armed forces would assist the projects to improve life standard of the Shelman tribe. An iftar dinner was organised at military cantonment of Ghakhi in Loy-Shelman to honour the tribal elders of the area where Lt. Col. Tanveer Gul addressed the participants. He said that the gathering aims to analyse the issues of area dwellers and exchange views for best possible solutions. “Following the directives of high-ups, medical and teaching staffs have been appointed at their respective duties, besides installation of three potables water supplies to improve health, education and drinking water facilities in the area,” he added. He also warned the tribesmen of ‘negative propaganda’ spread by miscreants that aims to disintegrate the unity and brotherhood of masses, and the armed forces. The tribesmen also requested him to repair the Loy-Shelman road. Lastly, the tribal elders including Mirali Shah thanked the armed forces representatives for their support and expressed patriotism and commitment to sacrifice their lives for the country.
