LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Chief Justice, Mansoor Ali Shah, on Tuesday sought copies of decisions by accountability courts which acquitted the prime minister and his family in Ittefaq Foundry and other references. The chief justice was hearing a petition of resident Mahmood Akhtar. The CJ put off the hearing until March 27th and directed the petitioner to furnish copies of the decision delivered by the accountability courts. The petitioner’s counsel stated that accountability courts acquitted the PM and his family members in NAB references and the NAB had not challenged their acquittal. He stated that the NAB chairman was under obligation to file appeals against the trial court’s verdict. He also alleged that the Sharifs had defaulted on loans obtained from National Bank of Pakistan. He requested the court order the NAB chairman to challenge the acquittal of the Sharifs in the accountability references.
