LAHORE: The opposition in the Punjab Assembly on Friday refused to rejoin the House proceedings until the lawmaker apologises who announced the quorum is complete. Provincial ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Chaudhry Shafique and Malik Naveed tried to approach Opposition Leader Mehmoodur Rasheed but the latter denied to meet them. Later, they called on the opposition leader in his chamber where Rasheed demanded that the person who counted the legislators and announced the quorum is complete should be brought to book. The opposition leader also said CCTV footage should be watched in this regard. A committee comprising of parliamentary leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, PPP and PML was formed. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah will meet the body members to resolve the issue. The symbolic session of the opposition passed a resolution demanding the Punjab government to clear policy regarding the Pakhtun. It stated the Pakhtun are patriotic but they are being misbehaved as neither CNICs are being issued to them nor their accounts are opened in banks. Minister Nadeem Kamran pointed out the quorum of symbolic session but the quorum was complete as Speaker Dr Nousheen Hamid said the number of the present legislators is more than the required number. After that the parallel session was adjourned until Monday. PA session: The session started at 10:40am instead of 9am. PTI legislator Asif Mehmood pointed out the quorum. First, the session was adjourned for five minutes and later it was adjourned for 20 minures as the quorum was incomplete. Later Ehsan Riaz Fatiana pointed out the session but the government showed the required number of lawmakers.
