LOWER DIR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Wednesday invited all those who questioned Sindh’s development to visit the province with him. “Come with me to Sindh and see for yourself how the poor are provided healthcare and education,” Shah said, while addressing a public gathering in Chakdara, Lower Dir. He said that at public health facilities of the province millions were treated free of charge, adding, “This is development. Be ashamed, do something at least.” Shah said the PPP wanted to work for the welfare of the poor. Lashing out at the PML-N government, Shah said, “They claim they have ended load-shedding but power outages continue all over the country and some areas even experince up to 12 hours of outages.” “Load-shedding has only ended in the houses of PML-N leaders.” Shah continued, “Today, NFC awards were not announced which is a violation of the constitution. Till provinces are strengthened, the centre will not become strong,” he said, adding, “All of Sindh’s gas is given to Punjab. Take the gas, Punjab is also mine but at least consider the needs of the province that is generating all of it.” “An economic corridor plan is necessary but not over your own nation’s interests. CPEC is passing through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan but work is only being done in Punjab,” he concluded. Published in Daily Times, May 10th 2018.
